The Coptic Liturgy
The Coptic Liturgy is the heart of worship in the Coptic Orthodox Church, blending ancient traditions with deep spiritual meaning. It gathers the faithful in a sacred service of prayer, reflection, and the Holy Eucharist.
The Divine Liturgy is celebrated in Coptic, the language of the early Egyptian Christians, as well as Arabic and English, reflecting the diversity of today’s congregations. It includes hymns, Scripture readings, and the Anaphora—the central prayer that consecrates the bread and wine into the Body and Blood of Christ.
There are several forms of the Coptic Liturgy, including the Liturgies of St. Basil, St. Gregory, and St. Cyril. Each one preserves the richness of early Christian worship and continues to guide the faithful in their devotion today.
